Molina beats Q2 earnings, shares fall on revenue guidance miss
Plus: Community Health Systems guides to a full-year loss for 2026. The day's rules, money, and enforcement, sourced and tiered below.
Earnings  Confidence: High
Molina Healthcare, a major Medicaid and Medicare managed-care insurer, beat Wall Street's Q2 earnings estimates, and investors punished it anyway: its 2026 revenue forecast came in $2.28 billion short.
Adjusted EPS of $1.51 beat estimates and full-year guidance rose to at least $5.25 a share, but revenue guidance held near $42 billion, well below the $44.28 billion Wall Street wanted. Shares fell as much as 9.2%.
Why it matters
The stock drop shows investors are focused on revenue growth and Medicaid margin trends more than a one-quarter earnings beat, so watch full-year guidance updates rather than single-quarter results.

Earnings  Confidence: High
Community Health Systems, a hospital chain operating dozens of facilities across mostly rural and mid-sized markets, now expects to lose money for all of 2026, a sharp reversal after a profitable 2025.
Q2 net income fell to $70 million from $282 million a year ago as revenue dropped 9.8% to $2.825 billion. Full-year guidance: a loss of $1.10 to $1.25 a share. Shares fell more than 8% after hours.
Why it matters
A hospital chain that was solidly profitable a year ago now expects to lose money for the full year, a sign of how divestitures, payor mix and cost pressure are squeezing mid-sized hospital operators; watch whether the divestiture pace continues.
