A Medicaid rule capping how much states can tax hospitals and nursing homes to draw extra federal matching money started its public comment clock yesterday, the kind of rule that shapes what your local hospital gets paid.
CMS-2452-P phases in lower thresholds starting October 2027, then steps down 0.5 points a year to 3.5% by 2032. CMS's own actuaries project it cuts federal Medicaid spending $246 billion over 10 years. Comments due September 21.
