KKR, a private equity firm, is paying 5.7 billion dollars, a 52 percent premium, to take Integer Holdings private, the world's largest standalone maker of components for pacemakers and other implanted medical devices.
The deal pays 127 dollars a share in cash with no financing contingency and is expected to close by year end 2026. Integer employs about 11,000 people under the Greatbatch Medical and Lake Region Medical brands.

The rule also raises hospital payment rates 2.3 percent, worth about 2.1 billion dollars. Hospitals and device makers like Stryker and Zimmer Biomet have until January 1, 2028 to prepare.
