9 more drugmakers join Trump's Medicaid MFN pricing deal
Plus: Aon to acquire USI Insurance Services for $17 billion. The day's rules, money, and enforcement, sourced and tiered below.
Rule  Confidence: High
Nine more drugmakers, including Teva and CSL, just signed onto the Trump administration's Medicaid drug pricing program, bringing the total to 26 companies covering 89 percent of the branded drug market.
In exchange for cutting Medicaid prices to match foreign markets, the companies get exemption from a separate Medicare pricing push, tariff protection, and committed $19.6 billion to US manufacturing.
Why it matters
This expands a voluntary drug pricing program that now touches most branded drugs sold to Medicaid. Watch whether the administration's self-reported savings figures hold up to independent scrutiny.

Deal  Confidence: High
Aon, a global insurance brokerage giant, agreed to pay 17 billion dollars in cash for rival broker USI, whose clients include thousands of employers buying health insurance and benefits for their workers.
It's Aon's second mega-deal in two years, after its 13 billion dollar purchase of NFP in 2024. The all-cash deal is funded entirely by new debt and expected to close in the fourth quarter.
Why it matters
Two of the largest U.S. insurance brokers are combining, concentrating employer health benefits shopping into fewer, larger platforms. Watch the regulatory review process ahead of the expected fourth-quarter close.
