UnitedHealth Group's CFO told Wall Street today the insurer's Medicare Advantage turnaround is beating plan, even as it confirms up to 1.1 million fewer seniors will lose that coverage by year's end.

UnitedHealthcare's CFO Wayne DeVeydt said Sept 9 that 2026 MA margins now track the upper half of the company's 2-4% target range. Elevance and Centene echoed the retreat, both prioritizing dual-eligible retention over 2027 growth.

Trinity Health, the Catholic nonprofit hospital system based in Livonia, Michigan, is laying off 557 information-technology workers as it hands its IT support desk over to an outside vendor.

A state WARN notice shows layoffs running October 25 through November 29, largest among Service Desk Support roles. Trinity Health, which operates in 23 states, says patient-facing jobs are not affected.
