Altas Partners and L Catterton buy majority stake in Fullscript
Plus: UHS says ACA exchange losses becoming uncompensated care. The day's rules, money, and enforcement, sourced and tiered below.
Deal  Confidence: High
A private equity duo bought a majority stake in Fullscript, the health platform managing supplements and lab orders for 10 million patients, days after wearable partner Oura filed to go public at a $16B+ valuation.
Altas Partners and L Catterton bought the stake from HGGC and Snapdragon Capital Partners, ending a five-year hold. Terms weren't disclosed. Oura's own IPO filing shows $1.21B in revenue, up 74% year over year.
Why it matters
A fast-growing health platform just changed hands for an undisclosed sum, and its growth case leans on Oura's wearable data pipeline into clinician workflows, which looks more valuable now that Oura itself is going public. Watch whether the deal price ever surfaces once Oura's IPO prices.

Other  Confidence: Medium
Universal Health Services, which runs hospitals and behavioral facilities nationwide, told investors patients who lost ACA coverage aren't converting to paying customers, they're becoming uncompensated care instead.
The $85 million hit for 2026 is up from an earlier $75 million estimate. Malpractice expense, about 1% of revenue, is growing 10-15% a year. UHS also cut its full-year patient growth guidance.
Why it matters
One of the country's largest hospital and behavioral health operators just told investors that people losing ACA marketplace coverage aren't finding other insurance, they're becoming unpaid patients instead, a warning sign for how the broader ACA subsidy cliff is playing out in hospital finances.
