The Medicare middlemen fight, called PBM reform, has entered its next round: independent pharmacies and CMS just previewed the rules for what counts as a fair Part D pharmacy contract.
The Pharmacy Coalition met CMS this week; a formal request for input is coming next. New contract standards would apply to 2028 plan year deals, effective January 1, 2029.
