The government just canceled health coverage for more than 760,000 people enrolled in Affordable Care Act marketplace plans, the government health insurance exchange for people who don't get coverage through an employer.
CMS says the 315,000 canceled enrollments were unauthorized and expects to recover $2.2 billion in subsidies. A new rule also freezes 2027 broker registration for anyone without an active 2026 Exchange Agreement.

Record
Medicare is about to start paying laboratories the same rates private insurers pay for the exact same blood and diagnostic tests, a change expected to save taxpayers roughly $1 billion a year.
CMS found Medicare pays about 16% more than private insurers for identical lab tests. Cuts are capped at 15% a year through 2029. Final rates land in November, effective January 1, 2027.
